Rockin' On

Phil was a little worried about today's match only because his opponent was a good clay court player.  Which means he can retrieve balls all day long and be a nightmare to play.

Phil said he had made up his mind to play aggressively and not get caught in long rallies.  After winning the first set 6-1, with aggressive play and a sprinkling of drop shots, his opponent retired stating a quad pull from chasing down Phil's well placed balls. He retired from the match.  We'll take a win anyway we can!  So now he moves on to the semi finals tomorrow.

Tom and Phil also played doubles this afternoon.  By the sound of the 6-1,6-1 score you would think it was a cake walk.  Phil says the team was pretty good and the score is not a good indicator of the match. On to the semis for the doubles too.

Again, because I've been on the court while they have been playing, my anxiety level of worrying how he is doing has been low.  I keep sending him good vibes and hope he can put them to good use.  So far so good.
