Missed all Summer!

I have no excuses.  I just never got around to writing about our summer adventures.  Our summer has been a little wacky, and I've had plenty of time to write.  The thoughts never got from my head to the keyboard. So here is a brief cliff note version of what's happened since June...

In early August Phil won the National Indoors with Tom Smith in Minneapolis.  I was able to go and spend a great week away watching them play.  We  were also able to take in a couple of Twin's baseball games which was a ton of fun.  Phil opted out of playing the National Grass courts in September.

After 4 years of not having any recorded events on my loop monitor recorder, I was finally able to have it removed in late August.  Yay!

We survived a rather serious hurricane. Hurricane Irma.  It was Phil's first hurricane, and it's been a while since I've had to go through one.  The storm itself was tough enough to endure, but the aftermath is always the worst.  Downed limbs, trees and debris. No power. No water.  We were about 4 days with out the comforts of home. Compared to the devastation and destruction from Hurricane Maria to Puerto Rico, we did just fine.  Our area is slowly coming back to life.

Phil is going through some protocol tests for elevated PSA numbers.  It has not been pleasant for him, but a necessity to keep a watchful eye on things.  His next step is a biopsy at then end of this month.

We will be leaving for Orlando on Friday October 13 for Phil to play the World Championships.  He and Tom are just playing doubles.  The format is 2 out of 3 sets with a 10 point tiebreaker played in lieu of the third set.  Tough way to play.  Anything can happen.  We are looking forward to a fun week.  Ellie will be staying with Besty while we are gone. Hoping for a good week for both of them!

So in a nutshell that's about it.  I will be blogging from Orlando to keep up with Phil's results.  His been working really hard and deserves to do well.  Can't wait!!
