Phil and Phil came home last Saturday feeling dejected and frustrated from their weekend of tennis in Sarasota. Neither felt they played well, only winning one of three matches played. There were some very beatable teams, but this particular weekend just wasn't meant to be.
They were home early enough on Saturday to watch the Ohio State/Michigan State game.....almost a disaster in itself, with OSU only winning by one point. If OSU had lost it would have been a calamity of a weekend!
It was great to see (young) Phil again. His game is continuing to improve. He and his Dad will have plenty of opportunities to play more Father/Son events. It's exciting to see them play as a team and work their way up the ranks.
(Old) Phil...sorry honey!, is taking some time off now. He will rest up, heal his body, then get revved up for the January tournaments. Phil had a phenomenal year. I think this mental and physical break will serve him well.
I could not be more proud of Phil for finishing the year ranked #1 in the country in the 65 doubles. Not too shabby.
(I tried to post this earlier in the week, but for some reason it wouldn't go)
