Ended the Day with a Win

Phil and Phil had a tough first round match today. (actually second round, because of a bye) They lost 6-2, 6-4.  Phil said he was flat, and as a team they just didn't play well.  The loss put them in the consolation round.  This afternoon they played a team they would (and have) normally beat easy.  They won, but in a three set battle.  After losing the first set, they came back to win the second set in a tiebreaker then took the third set 6-3. According to Phil, he and Phil still did not play their best, but hung in through the tough times and pulled out a "character win" as Phil called it.

Those types of wins can be just gutsy enough to get the juices flowing and get you back on track.  They will play tomorrow morning, and with a win, will play the finals of the consolation in the afternoon. Then home early enough for some Crust pizza and football.

Ellie and I look forward to their return.  A little too quiet around here.  I don't even know what I did before Ellie was here.... the nights must have been awfully long and quiet!  I love having my little furry companion around.

I'm sorry that Phil and Phil lost this morning, but happy they ended the day with a win. Always a good thing.
