On to today's action.
Phil won his singles match. He won the first set on cruise control, then he lost rhythm with his serve and ended up losing the second set. Early in the third, his opponent retired with a back problem. Like Phil, his opponent had a semifinal doubles match later in the day. He wanted to save himself for the doubles rather than tire out in singles. Fortunately Phil has been working and training hard in the Florida heat and humidity. He doesn't seem too affected.
Tony and Phil's doubles opponents today are multiple gold ball winners. However, Phil and Tony won today. I can tell when Phil is dialed in. In talking to him this week, he's very focused on the doubles. Tony is struggling with a shoulder that he had surgery on 8 or so months ago. But somehow, someway they keep fighting on. Whew. Another awesome win. One more to go.
Phil had another Tarpon Cove cheering section. Mike Schottland and Bob Armstrong were there to watch. Much appreciated!!!

Tomorrow will be the same playing schedule. Singles semis at 10:30 and doubles final around 1:30. I will wait patiently for the calls. I think it's best for me to not be there at this point. I get waaay to anxious. And that's a fact!
