6 Sets in a Day

As I've said many times, if  I don't hear from Phil after the 2 hour mark, I get worried.  Both his singles and doubles matches went past the two hour mark, and I got worried.

First his singles match...scheduled for 10:30, by 12:45 I was wringing my hands.  He called around 1:15 to say he had won in three sets.  He felt like he was in control of the match in the first set, had a few loose points on his service game in the second set and lost it.  It was a tight third, but Phil was able to pull it out with a break at 4-4, then held to finish it off.

A 1:45 scheduled doubles match stretched to 3:50.  Another worrisome time.  Once again the call came to say he and Tony had won in three sets.  A deep sigh of relief.  Now I can rest up and prepare for tomorrow's matches.

Phil has the same play schedule as he has had all week...quarterfinal singles at 10:30 and semifinal doubles at 1:30.

I'll wait all day to hear from him if I have to.  Could be another 6 sets in a day!

Ellie and I take selfies when we have too much time on our hands....
