The Cycle

Phil knew his knee was getting more fatigued and sore from all the tennis he's played the past couple of weeks.  He was going to do his best in singles, but wanted to make sure he had enough in the tank and body to take care of the doubles.

He retired from his semifinals singles match after the first set. After icing his knee, and Tony getting his shoulder worked on they were ready to play.  Surely between all their "working" body parts they could put together one more good match to finish off the tournament.

And they did....they won 6-3, 6-3.  Another gold ball!  I was so excited for Phil when he called, and I could hear the joy and relief in his voice too.  He's ready to come home now, ready to take a break, and ready to work (I hope!) :)

He's had a pretty successful two weeks away...coming home with a bronze ball (third place singles), a silver ball (finalist Father/Son) and gold ball (winner of doubles).

I'd call that hitting for the cycle!       THE WINNERS!
