Phil left for Irvine, California yesterday where he is playing the National 65 Hard Courts. Wisely he is only playing doubles. He and Tony have a real shot at doing very well. They are letting the other guys beat themselves up by playing both singles and doubles. Phil and Tony will be fresh for the doubles. Without being too repetitive, I am so in awe that Phil is even playing, much less at a such high level. Their first match is Tuesday at 2:00.
My hip is healing. After seeing the orthopedic last week, looks like a serious bursitis issue. I had great relief from a cortisone shot. At least I'm not walking like Chester from Gunsmoke. I am going to do a few weeks of PT, in addition to getting back with my trainer Jeff. I want to stay the course.
We are about 3 weeks from bringing little Ellie home. This is a picture of her today after getting a bath. Can you stand it? The cuteness just eats me up, and I can see mischiefness in those eyes. Poor Philly has his work cut out for him. We can hardly wait!
I'll post Phil's match results daily.
