Once again I knew my nerves would be on edge waiting to hear results from Phil. So today I decided to go for a long walk while he was playing. Minutes after I got home from an hour long walk, I received a text from him saying they had split sets. At least I knew what was happening. I also knew the third set would take about 30 minutes...so I headed to the kitchen and started baking. Before the chocolate chips cookies could get into the oven, Phil called to say they had won the match 6-3 in the third. It sounded like a hard fought match. Phil and Tom lost the first set 7-6, then won then second set 7-5. Phil needed a hard, pressure filled match like this one. It is a big confidence builder.
The finals are scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. Tom plays his semi final singles in the morning, then the doubles final will be played afterwards.
I so want him to do well in this final tournament of the year!
