As I've said before, I start getting nervous when the two hour time mark passes and I haven't heard from Phil. I don't know if they may have started late, or they are in a tough battle, or if they lost and he is delaying calling me. All kinds of crazy thoughts go through my mind!!
Today's match was scheduled for 2:00. I knew they went on right at two. I kept busy most of the afternoon, and realized around 3:45 I hadn't heard from Phil. Then the worry started. He called a little before 4:00 to report they had won in a close one, 7-6, 7-5. The opponents were good, combined with a little tentativeness from he and Tom, which made for a tight match. It always seems that each tournament has a match like this. It's good to get it out of your system early so you can relax and play loosely going forward. The semi finals are tomorrow. Game On!!
