Much to Phil's disappointment, he wasn't able to play today and had to default out of the tournament. His elbow refused to cooperate...but it wasn't for lack of doing everything in his power. He worked diligently with the on site trainer to try and get his elbow ready. Optimistic, Phil and Paul went on the as scheduled, but after hitting about ten balls in the warmup Phil knew he couldn't play, so they retired. Bummer....but trying to play through pain that feels like an ice pick is digging in your elbow every time you make contact with the ball is no fun.
With some time off from play to rest and recover, Phil will be good as new. I've missed him while he was gone, but happy that my friend, teammate and roommate from Alabama, now living in Atlanta, came down to stay a few days with me. We've had a great time reminiscing, and catching up. It's like we've never been apart. I wish I could have hit some with her, but the ball machine did a good job wearing her out!
Our busy season at work is fast approaching, so time to settle in and get back to work.

Just read your blog today--we will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. You are so fortunate to have survived this stroke(this summer, a close friend of ours did not!). An event such as this makes us realize that we must appreciate every moment we have.
Hi to Phil and take care of each other.
