Time To Play

It hasn't taken too long for Fran and me to get settled. Because of our long travel day yesterday (going backwards in time is hard!), we were both pretty wiped out by early evening. We managed to get in a short hit to get the cob webs out, went to the store to get a few things, ate an early dinner and were able to be in bed by 7:15. I woke up feeling feeling rested.

Today we found a good breakfast spot for the week, went to the courts for a short but efficient hit, did some exploring, then came back for a good doubles practice match with Kathy Vick and Vicki Buholtz. I've been very careful with my wrist and so far through the practice sessions it's holding up fine. My first match is tomorrow at 9:00. I don't know anything about my opponent, and it doesn't matter. I'm going out with a good attitude and will be ready to play. I like the speed of the court. It's refreshing to play on a surface with true bounces and steady footing. Fran forewarned me that it is much cooler here than one would expect. Luckily I brought sweats and long sleeves, and have needed all of it. There's just a coolness in the air that I wouldn't expect.
