I'm on my way to San Diego. My flight just left rainy Atlanta, and I've settled in for the long 4 1/2 hour plane ride. Isn't modern technology great? 30,000 feet in the skies and I can entertain myself with all the comforts of home....minus the comfort of the couch and Phil!
This has been an interesting week as far as preparing to play a national tournament. I haven't hit a ball since Monday. My right wrist has been bothering me off and on since late January. I've been able to control it with ice and Aleve with little worry. For some reason it picked this week to become very inflamed and angry, to the point where hitting a ball with any stroke produced great pain. I went to an orthopedic doc Thursday hoping for a quick fix. With this type of tendinitis he recommended splinting it and lots of ice and Aleve. Phil and I continued our fitness workouts and I'm hopeful that by the time I play my first match Monday that I'll be ready.
I'm looking forward to hanging out and playing with Fran this week. This is my first trip to La Jolla. Another lifetime ago, I ran a marathon in San Diego. New adventures are a good thing.
