Almost

Today has been an really long day...only because I knew it would be late this afternoon until I heard anything from Phil on their final match.  Tom played singles first and won in three sets. Phil called about an hour before they were going on to play. I've been a nervous wreck ever since.  Usually I know someone who is at the tournament watching the matches and they will text me updates as the match progresses.  At this tournament I didn't know anyone who'd be willing to do that, so I just sat and waited, and waited.  Finally Phil called about 10 minutes ago to say they had lost in three sets.  I was so disappointed for him.  But then he said something right away that made me so proud.  He said he played really well. As I've said before, he only says that if he means it.  Losing is never easy.  Especially when you lose a match that you know was yours.  Now it's time for him to focus on getting back to playing singles.....next stop Atlanta. I know it will be a long plane ride home.  Another red-eye, arriving back home around mid morning tomorrow.  I wish there was a way I could magically blink my eyes and have him home now and give him a big hug.  He deserves it!
