It's been exactly a month since I last posted Phil's Sarasota tournament results. Today he and player/friend, David Edmundson left for St. Petersburg to play another CAT II national. This will be Phil's last warm up tournament before he goes to Palm Springs in mid April for his hard court nationals. His first match in this tournament isn't until Wednesday, but David was driving and has a Tuesday first round match. It's always good to have at least one day in between arriving and playing. In Phil's case he'll have two days, which will allow him to rest up and acclimate to warmer temps. He was more than ready for the tournament to hurry up and get here. Day after day drilling and hitting gets old...it's time to play ball!
Speaking of playing ball....opening day of baseball is in 25 days!!!
As for me...I've been working like crazy as our winter guest season has been busy as ever. Renee and Phil have been on the courts teaching and Jerry and I have been manning the inside and everything else. By this time of the season I am an exhausted mess. It's all so worth it though and I love what I do. Until two weeks ago I had put my health issues aside. I finally called to have my medical records from here sent to a doctor at UAB in Birmingham. I have not heard back from them yet, but hope to know something this week. If I don't get satisfaction from UAB, then I'm off to St. Louis to see a specialist there. I know I just need to do something, because limbo is a terrible place to be hanging out!
The links to Phil's draws are posted to the right of this post. I'll report again probably Tuesday, but most definitely on Wednesday after his first singles match.
