Two Match Day

When Phil called this morning before his first match, I could tell he felt better than yesterday. He's still fighting his chest congestion, but his energy level was better. He had no scouting report on his first opponent, which can always be unnerving. Fortunately Phil took care of business and won 6-1, 6-1. His round of 16 match was scheduled later in the afternoon against a tough, scrappy player. Phil knew he'd have his work cut out for him. To distract myself from worrying too much, I rode my bike to work and hit with Renee. My foot is still an issue, but it is a little better. Just as I got home and cooled off, Phil called to say he had won 6-3, 6-4. YEA!!! He was very happy to have this match in the books and done. He now plays the quarters tomorrow morning at nine. According to the current draw posted, there is only one match scheduled tomorrow....that would leave semis and finals for Tuesday. Either way, he'll be ready to play.

Both our cars have been hand washed and vacuumed, and the garage cleaned out. Look out back porch!
