I finally heard from Tracey, in Dr. Verma's office, around 6:30 Thursday evening. She didn't seem overly concerned about my fatigue issues. She said that my heart was working hard to find it's new beating pathways, combined with the anesthesia and blood thinner, and it was a recipe, at least in my case, for being so tired. I think just hearing that it wasn't out of the ordinary helped me relax about it. I woke up on Friday with a new outlook and new attitude. Phil and I hit for about 15 minutes on Friday, 3o minutes on Saturday and about 50 minutes today. Mind you, it's very light and easy hitting, with quite a few breaks, but at least I'm back out there. My energy level is good and I'm able to make it through each day now. I have a check up with Dr. Phlaum, my cardiologist, on Thursday. I have had a few flutters since the ablation, which they told me to expect. I'm not sure what I'll set my sights on yet for my next tournament. I need to have a "carrot" dangling to get me motivated and have a goal to work for. Grass court nationals are in July, it could be that, or maybe something in August instead. We'll see.
Side note.....
The news seems grim about the oil approaching our coast. Some tarballs have washed up on Okaloosa Island in Ft. Walton. We haven't had any reports of oil yet on our beaches, but time will tell. The pictures from Louisiana of the oil soaked pelicans and other wild life are just heartbreaking.

I vote for August...give yourself plenty of time to get back in playing condition without the time stress. There again, you'll know if you feel back to normal in July. Glad you are back on the fast track to recovery!!
Hi Myke, read your blog with a great deal of interest. We are so happy with your results and hope your progress continues as it has so far. We agree with Marilyn that August would be a good time to start your come back, although, knowing how competitive you are, you'll be chomping at the bit the whole time. Good luck to you in whatever you decide.
