Great First Day

Fran and I got a very early hit in this morning before any of the matches started. The winds at 6:45 am were blowing at 20 mph then, so we knew it was going to be a tough day weather wise. I sat with Mariana as her "coach" and she won a great match 6-0, 7-6. Then I moved over to Fran's match and she cruised to a 6-2, 6-4 victory. The match was clinched by winning both singles matches. Susan and I played the doubles, and lost a tough one 6-3, 6-4. We knew
Australia would be tough and we were happy to get our first match under our belts. Tomorrow we play Poland. They don't appear to be a strong team. Looks like Susan and I will be playing the singles matches. Unfortunately due to the large number of teams, we won't be playing until the afternoon again. Phil and his team, along with other USA teams cheered us on to victory today. His team plays Ireland tomorrow morning, which works well since we don't play until later. I'm doing better with my eating this year...not just pizza like last year!
