Not My Day

I knew the tournament would be nothing but tough from the quarters on, and I was right. I played a very competitive, hard fought three set match today against Tracey Thompson, and unfortunately, I came out on the short end. I won the first set 6-3, then lost the next two 7-6, 6-4. We had great points. We were both hot and cold at different times during the match. I need more tough matches like these to become a better player. This was the exact reason I wanted to come play this tournament before going off to Turkey. Of course I would have preferred to win today, but by going in the back draw I'll play more matches....tough ones at that. This afternoon Mary and I lost our doubles 6-3, 6-3. Just wasn't my day. I don't have any matches tomorrow, then start up again on Friday.
