On My Way

Leaving my "girls", Augie and Chatum was a little tough this morning. I know they're in good hands with my tag team of doggie sitters! Scott has the first four days, then Connie, then Ricky is coming from Lousiana to finish off the week. I could never do what I do without the help of all my friends. John Wieck was at my house this morning at 4:15 a.m. to get me to the airport for my 6:00 flight. What a trooper!

I'm at the airport in Memphis, but my flight to Columbus is delayed about an hour and a half. No big deal. I'll get there. Phil and I are going to hit a little at his club today, then on the grass tomorrow. The draws are posted for the tournament. I'm seeded third, behind my doubles partner Susan Wright, and Yukie, who is a very good player from Japan. I have a bye, so my first match isn't until Tuesday. I arrive in Philadelphia on Sunday, so that will give me a couple of days to hit on the grass before my match. In doubles, Susan and I are seeded first, probably because she and her partner won the doubles last year. I've learned through the years that seedings don't mean too much....anything can happen! I'm just going to play, have fun and do the best I can!
