Getting Closer

I'm leaving in less than two weeks to go to Columbus to get a few more days of grass practice in with Phil before heading on to Philadelphia. Renee and I have been getting some good workouts in at Sandestin on the grass. I'm ready for some match play. I've had some good singles and doubles practice matches, but I'm ready for the real deal. The field of players looks very strong, but I've been working hard and am looking forward to putting it all into action. I originally thought I'd only be playing singles, but now I'm in the doubles as well. Susan Wright, from Colorado, and I had planned to play the Hard Court Nationals in California together in September. Her partner for the Grass Courts is injured, so we're going to play together at Merion as well. My Mom will be joining me in Philadelphia. We all know how much she loves to watch tennis! Especially when she gets to watch her "baby" play! I figure that with me playing singles and doubles, it'll save me from doing a lot of sightseeing, which is her second most favorite thing to do after watching tennis!
