Finally Finals

I was AWOL posting yesterday. Only because it rained again, so the doubles matches were cancelled and only main draw singles were played once the weather cleared.

Today was a clear, sunny and windy in New Orleans. Phil had not hit since Wednesday and he has said many times that “he loses his timing when he gets a drink of water on the change over”. So being able to hit or play during a tournament is crucial to Phil. Tom lost his singles this morning and they played their doubles around 2:30.

Phil and Tom won 6-2, 6-4. The general match analysis from Phil, who is usually pretty honest good or bad, was that he did not play great. He lost his serve twice in the first set and they still managed to win it 6-2.  Phil was happy they got out of the second set winning 6-4 to close out the match.

On to the finals.  Seems like this week has dragged on as far as the tournament goes. The finals are scheduled to play at noon tomorrow. If all goes well, Phil will be home late tomorrow night.  Finally!
