Not playing singles may be an advantage for Phil. All the other guys are beating themselves up playing singles, and Phil is fresh and ready to go. I’m sorry that he’s not still in the singles but I’m so proud of his positive attitude. He’s finding a way to channel his disappointment into playing great doubles.
Today Phil and Tom won their match easily. Phil said he and Tom played really well. Not a compliment Phil gives himself often. I was so happy to hear it though!
Tomorrow comes a challenge. They play Phil’s first round singles opponent, Fernando and his partner who is reportedly a good player as well. Again, my money is on my guys. Phil will be fired up! I’m there in spirit!
