9 out of 10

If anyone would have told Phil or me that, three weeks after finishing 9 weeks of everyday radiation treatment, he would play a CAT ll national and win 9 out 10 matches I think we would have laughed. 

But here we are and it’s real. What a great week Phil had. He fell short in the singles today to a great clay court player 6-2, 6-2.  Then he and Tom turned around and played their doubles final right afterward. They went down 0-3, a double break, before coming back to win the first set 6-4. Quick work was made by the dynamic duo in the second set by winning 6-1.  

A long week for sure with a lot af great tennis. Some matches were easier than others, but I like knowing the fire is there for Phil.  He loves the game. He inspires me everyday.  He has made “comebacks” from rotator cuff and knee replacement surgery and now prostate cancer. And not just a comeback to play again, but comeback to be a champion again.  Amazingly awesome.
