Poor Philly!

I was so afraid this would happen if Phil played In three events. Add a rain delay to the mixture and oh boy...it makes for a loooonnnnnggg day!

Phil won his singles and doubles in routine fashion. He and Tony were off the court by 3:00. Our scheduled 6:30 p.m mixed match was delayed as the tournament played catch up from an earlier rain delay. We finally took the court around 8:30 p.m.

I wasn't nervous about playing, but more worried about keeping Phil on the court too late, when he has an 8:00 match tomorrow morning. The team we played was deceptively decent. Long story short, we won the first set 6-3. Got down a break in the second set, came back, went to a tiebreaker...URGH!
Had a match point on my serve, didn't convert and lost the set. Seriously? We won easily 6-0 in the third set. Thanks to Phil for helping me to get out of my own head and just play. I knew he was tired and it was frustrating playing such an unconventional team, but we finished them off. So glad to get the first one over with.

As always it's fun catching up with friends we (I) haven't seen in a while. The main goal for me being here is to enjoy being back playing again. Thanks to my wonderful, loving partner in life and partner on the court, it's happening.

I will be more at ease about playing tomorrow and will try not keep Phil out there longer than need be to win. He's got another 3 match day coming up!
