And Away We Go

And then there were none.  Well not really none...but not as many.  The "season" has officially ended. Not much traffic in town, not much waiting in restaurants and fewer tennis players at the club.  Now is the time for us to re-energize and enjoy all the things we don't normally get to do during our busy time.

Our first call of duty is to head off to a tournament in Austin, Texas next week.  Phil is going to play doubles with the partner that he plans to play with in all the nationals this year.  This is a cat ll national, and he figures that since he is already going to be there, he will go ahead and play singles too.  There are not many big tournaments that have men and women playing together, but this one does.  So Phil an I are going to play mixed doubles together.  This will be our first time playing together since we played the Husband/Wife nationals about 4 years ago.  I'm so looking forward to playing!!!!!  I have been working hard the past 4-6 weeks and this will be an awesome opportunity for us.  I am most comfortable on the court with Phil.  It'll be a fun weekend of tennis.  What a great way to start the summer.

Our other fun activity this summer will be training a new addition into our family.  In mid July we will be getting a new puppy!  She is a Maltese named Ellie.  She was born on May 6th. We have been tossing around the idea for some time to get a dog, and finally decided to take the plunge back into doggy ownership. We're both very excited.

The summer will go by fast. Now that we are settled in our beautiful home, and Phil is healed from his knee surgery, we plan to enjoy every minute of it with tennis, travel and loving on Ellie.  Oh yea, there will be work involved too.

Be on the lookout for some tennis tournaments for me too!

And away we go..........!!!!
