Catching Up

Once again I find myself having to play catch up with the news. So here goes...

October came and went. Uneventful from what I can remember. Work started getting much busier as our winter guests started filing in. Our club members are heavily involved in league play, and October is when the leagues start up for the fall.  The weather stayed unusually hot for that time of year, so for those coming south, the heat was a definite issue!

November also came and went without fanfare.  Phil has continued to practice and rehab his knee.  He and his son, also Phil, played in the National Father/Son last weekend in Sarasota.  They did really well by getting to the semis. It was a good test for his knee to play in a pressure like situation.  He needs to play as many matches as he can to start gaining more confidence.

Now it's December.  Where did the time go? Our weather continues to be record breaking with high 80's temps. Phil goes to Longboat Key this weekend to play a Cat ll tournament...doubles with Larry Gagnon.  The draw is small and they play their first match on Friday.  This is Phil's last tournament of the year and his last tournament in the 60's.  He moves up to the 65's in January.  I am predicting good things will happen for him this coming year.  He will continue to gain confidence and strength in his knee.  There could be gold in his future!

I'm doing well. Working hard and preparing for a busy 2016 season.  We are looking forward to going to Chicago in February for Phil's Hall of Fame induction.  I hope there is a heat wave in Chicago in early February!
