Dr Visit

Phil had his first post op doctors visit today and I think it was good for many reasons:

1) removed the staples (pretty cool to watch!)

2) reinforced that taking pain meds after two weeks post op is still okay

3) 100% of knee replacement patients find sleeping through the night difficult, if not almost impossible

4) he can come off the walker and start using the cane

5) he can drive, as long as he doesn't take meds in the morning...duh

6) we saw X-ray of his new knee, next to his old knee...wow it was awesome! His new knee is so pretty (if you can describe it that way)

Phil finishes home therapy this week and starts out patient next week. In my eyes this is where the fun starts. This is where his real push and inner drive will have to kick in. I know he wants it bad enough or he never would have gone through all this. My job now is to help keep him motivated.

He only thought I was mean as a rattle snake before!
