Home and Settled

We've been home and settled since Thursday afternoon. Phil was really glad to get out of the hospital. He is such a germaphobe....anyway, he's home and resting well, but also rehabbing well too.

Hospital rehab was a good start. The first couple of sessions were a breeze. Then as predicted, and well informed, Phil finally felt the pain and stiffness by the Thursday morning session. The pain is manageable with meds. He must continue to move around and get the bend and straightening. I just make sure he ices, does his therapy, takes his meds, gets showered, eats, gets dressed, walks, eats again, rests, ices some more, elevates his knee, does more therapy.....whatever it takes to get him back to form.

He'll have a couple of weeks of home PT, then on to regular PT. It'll be a long journey, but he's got the right mind set. I'll be nurse/ asst. PT and chauffeur for a while. I don't mind at all.

It'll be a journey for both of us! Here are some pictures:

1) Chillin' in the hospital...before the pain kicks in
2) Gross, I know... In between dressings. Two days post op. Lots of staples!
3) The walker. His new best friend! Notice the Indian Wells tourney on in the background. I'm suspicious of his timing...tennis and NCAA basketball???
4) Elevate and Ice, Elevate and Ice, Elevate and Ice.....

Well, I tried to post pictures but for some reason they wouldn't come up. I'll leave the captions up and let your imagination picture what they would look like.

I'll try again later. Until then...

Good luck! I've been back on the tennis court since the two week mark. I'm sure Phil will do the same.
