Four for Five

Fran made quick work of her singles match this morning against Julie Farina. Our doubles match was able to go on earlier than scheduled. That way we could play and Fran still make her flight to play the Great Britain Indoor in Birmingham England.

We knew we needed to (as Phil would quote John Wooden) "be quick, but not in a hurry." We played through rather quickly. We won the consolation finals 6-2, 6-2. I played fair, but once again still felt not quite there...not solid, not mobile and not feeling comfortable on the court. In time, I hope. I have lots of work to do. Physically and mentally. My first priority is to make it through the season working. We're about 5-6 weeks in. May will be here soon!

I admit my play was better than 3 months ago, and winning 4 out of 5 matches played is a big improvement. But I can see how much more work there is to do. Oh my goodness. I guess it's true....what doesn't kill you....makes you stronger.

I'll get there.
