A Win is A Win

Today was very windy in Palm Beach Gardens. Very warm, but very windy. Fran played her singles this morning won easily. I warmed her up early for that. We had quite a bit of time before our 3:00 doubles match, so we left the club to grab some lunch.

Practice courts are at a premium, but we were able to jump on a teaching court to get a quick hit in. Fran knew the girls we were playing and knew they were good players. I felt better than I thought I would after yesterday's heartbreaking loss.

We won 7-5, 7-5. To take away the positives...I served better. I used my lobs more effectively. I am not hitting the ball cleanly. My returns are erratic. My volleys and overheads are not clean. There is so much work to be done. I just have to put in the time. We'll play again tomorrow afternoon again. A win is a win!

Phil and Larry won the finals of their tournament today. Phil said it was very windy day in Naples too. He felt like he played well and that his knee felt better than usual. Way to go Philly!!
