I have been derelict in my duties of posting leading up to our trip to Seattle. I'm not sure what we have been doing with the time that has passed. I do know that it seems we have been busier at work with lessons in the mornings. The afternoons have been been much hotter than usual with less rain. Mind you, this is only our third summer to compare it to, but it does seem so to me.
Phil has been working out as much as his bum knee will allow. We had a group in to workout last weekend. He may have overdone it and finished the weekend with his knee feeling a little "creaky" as he describes it. He is scheduled to play both singles and doubles, with doubles being his main focus. With all of the various injuries he's faced over the past year, he hasn't played singles since this tournament last year. He feels like he needs to get himself at there again. I don't want him to get hurt.
We have never been to Seattle, so it will be an adventure for both of us. I'm not sure why though...for those who know us, we're not really the adventure some type. I'll make sure we get out and see the sights between or after matches. My Mom would have a fit. She'd have a list of must see sights for us...or more than likely she'd be with us leading the way!! How I wish. Her two favorite things, watching tennis and sightseeing.
Phil's first match is a doubles match scheduled for Monday afternoon. He and his partner, Bob Wright, are seeded third. They played together before on a cup team but not in a tournament. Phil thinks highly of Bob and says they will do well. Singles for Phil starts Tuesday.
I've been hitting a little more and having fun with it. When we get back I'll hit a little more. On a sad note, my Aunt Margie passed away a couple of weeks ago as expected. Thankfully she closed her eyes and went peacefully home.
I will post daily and add some pictures too from Seattle.
