Headed to Cleveland

Phil and I are headed to Cleveland today by way of Columbus. We are flying in and out of Columbus so we can see Phil's boys, and in between, driving to Cleveland so he can play in the Gordon Cup. The Gordon Cup is a goodwill event (mens) between the US and Canada. We'll spend tonight in Columbus, then drive to Cleveland tomorrow, returning to Columbus on Saturday afternoon and back to Naples on Sunday.

Even though I'm not playing, I am looking forward to seeing many of our friends who will be there. Tarpon Cove members Ben and Ellie Richman and Nick LaRich are coming to watch Phil play. Longtime Hidden Dunes winter guests, Barry and Marg Bray will be there. Barry will be playing for Canada along with Hidden Duner, Bill Webster. Also making a special trip from Midland, Michigan is Jim and Trish Davidson. This will be a relatively short trip for Jim and Trish, as they flew all the way to Majorca Spain to see us play a few years ago! Should be week filled with fun and fellowship!

The opening ceremonies to start the event are at 8:30 on Friday, with matches to follow. I think Phil's first match is on Friday at 10:30. I believe he is scheduled for one match each day, but we'll be there to cheer on the US as all the age groups, 45's to 80's play. I'll try to post some pictures as well.
