3 Layers

Today was another damp, bone chilling day. It's not so much the temps, mid to low 60's, but just a cloudy, breezy, misty icky day. I watched both of Phil's matches in three layers; two sweatshirts and a jacket.

The highlight of our day was Tarpon Cove members and friends, John and Jan Pastore made a special side trip on their journey from Naples back to New York, to stop in Atlanta to watch Phil play singles this morning. We were honored that they would make such an effort to see us.

Phil played very well against what could have been a tricky opponent. Phil neutralized his opponents game by being aggressive from the beginning and taking charge of the match. He won 6-1, 6-1. After Phil's match we went to lunch with John and Jan. We are so appreciative of their friendship and support! We said our goodbyes as they continued their trip toward home. Phil and Tom then played a good doubles match against two 65's players. They were too strong for their opponents and won 6-1, 6-1. A good, fun day for both of us all around.

Rain is forecasted for the next 36 hours. We'll have to see what adjustments will be made if the rain washes out all the matches. Indoors may be a option, which favors Phil! Right now he is scheduled to play singles at 11:30, and doubles will follow. I'll update the weather conditions tomorrow.
