Strongest Winds Ever

In all my years playing, I don't remember ever having played in winds as strong as today. The clouds broke, and sun came through as the hurricane pulled away from our area, but the winds that remained were blowing a minimum of 30 mph, and gusting higher, throughout the entire day. It's mentally and physically exhausting to play in those conditions.

I played a little better today, but still not myself. I lost 6-3, 6-2 to Vicki Buholtz. I tried to hit out on the ball as much as I could, depending on the end of the court I was on. But I still missed balls that just don't make sense.

Fran and I had a tough quarterfinal doubles match. We pulled out a close one 6-4, 6-4 to move to semis. Because of all the weather delays, both the semis and finals of the singles and doubles are scheduled tomorrow. The matches are shortened in scoring to two sets with a tiebreaker played for the third. It will be an interesting day of tennis.
