The Frustration Continues

I played another frustrating singles match today. I hung close through the first six games despite my faltering forehand. I just can't seem to figure out what's going on with it. I lost 6-3,6-2. It's just crazy how discombobulated I am right now. Missing the easiest of shots, then coming up with a few good ones here and there. I fought hard through the entire match, and walked away feeling frustrated and helpless. How much more of this can I take?

Fran and I had a tough doubles match to look forward to after our singles this morning. We were playing number one seeds Mary Dailey and Susan Wright. I was determined to put my singles woes behind me and focus on the doubles. We played a great first set and won it 7-5. A break in the second cost us the set and we lost it 6-3. To start the third set we broke Susan, then struggled a bit as they picked up their games. We ended up losing the third set 6-2. It was a well played match by all four of us with a lot a good exchanges. Unfortunately we fell short.

So now I play back draw singles in the morning, followed by our playoff for third and fourth in the doubles. Fran plays her singles semis tomorrow. Win or lose tomorrow we'll be done early enough on Sunday that we can try to get home a day early, if possible.

We're ready to get back home.
