Next Round

Phil just called to say that he and Tom won their quarterfinal match this afternoon 6-3, 6-2.  He graded his playing today at a "B".  From him, that sounds pretty good.  The weather was good today, but expecting to take cooler, windier turn overnight into tomorrow.  The semifinals are scheduled for tomorrow afternoon.  The matches will be tougher and tougher the next two rounds.  Phil and Tom have a way of rising to the occasion when needed.  I have confidence in them both.

I leave next Wednesday to go to Baton Rouge.  The draws are posted and I play next Friday.  I haven't played enough singles in the past year, so I don't have any points to get seeded.  I drew the number one seed first round, Kathy Vick, from Texas.  She is a good player, and we have played a couple of times through the years.  It will be a good match.  I need to get back on the singles court and I have to start somewhere.  I'm looking forward to a fun weekend of tennis!
