I've only traveled to Europe a few times, but I must say that yesterday's cross country journey ranks right up there as one of the longest, hardest travel days ever. The two hour flight to Atlanta was uneventful. We were about an hour late leaving Atlanta for Ontario, CA which doesn't sound too bad....the bad part was due to strong head winds, it was a 5 hour flight to get to Ontario. Throw in the 3 hour time difference, plus working right up until the time Mike Shields picked us up to go to the airport, plus already being just plain tired from a crazy, busy season of working hard and you come up with two exhausted people by the time we landed, got our rental car, and came to our hotel around 1:30 a.m. Fortunately, Phil had the foresight to know it was going to be a long travel day, and we'd be too tired to make the hour drive into Palm Springs from Ontario last night. We reserved a room at a nearby hotel to rest up before driving to Palm Springs today.
It will take us a day or too to shake off the cob webs, get acclimated to the time difference, and get on the ball on the grass. The good news is we're here safe and sound and ready to get our first tournament as husband/wife started!
