On Our Way Home

We're sitting at the Ontario airport waiting for our long flight home. Red eye flights are not my favorite, but this was our best option. The killer is that tonight is the "spring forward" time change, which means we'll lose 4 hours as we head back to Eastern time zone. Oh well...

Phil and I spent the day at the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells watching matches. It was a perfect day weather wise. We watched Isner play on one of the smaller stadiums, and thanks to our very generous housing, Steve and Abby, we had box seats in the main stadium. There we watched Ivanovic, Roddick, and Djokovic. We were also lucky enough to watch some of the Djokovic match from the Tennis Channel's suite. Very nice!

Today the sting of losing had lessened a little, but we're both still talking about things we coulda, shoulda done to maybe have a different outcome. Bottom line is that they just played better and it was their day to win.

I don't think I mentioned that Phil did find his lost wedding ring. Evidently it had slipped off his finger, unnoticed, while he was digging in his suitcase. Note to selves....get ring resized!

Dear Myke and Phil,
I missed the boat this week. Didn't check your blog spot until today.
Had a wonderful time reading about your first time experiencing tennis as a husband and wife team. I am so proud of you. I know you wanted to win the whole thing, but you need to feel good on how well you did. The next time you will win the gold. Congratulations! Tillie
