It seems like I blinked and three months passed by. It was three months ago that I was in West Palm Beach to play the national clay courts, and here I am again. This time I'm here to play a category II national at Ballenisles. I'm only playing doubles, as I haven't found the time or energy to work on singles. Phil and I both decided we would just play doubles through the winter, and later in the spring start working on our singles. I'm playing this tournament with Mary Dailey. We haven't played together in a few years, but I think we'll make a good team. I made the 2 hour drive over this afternoon after work. Our first match is tomorrow at 3:00.
Phil is gearing up for his first tournament back, post shoulder surgery. He'll be playing in Sarasota in a couple of weeks, with partner Tom Smith. He is hitting the ball very well, but he feels like his serve isn't quite there yet. He's doing great, and I'm proud of how he stayed positive through the last 6 months. By the time we go to Palm Springs for the National Husband/Wife in early March, he'll be stronger than ever. I'm really looking forward to playing with my husband!
