I know it's been a while, but now it's time to get back in action. We're getting settled in to a routine at work with each passing day. I've also met some very nice girls, who are really good players that I've been able to practice with. In Destin a majority of my workouts were with the guys, which was great, but it's wonderful to be able to hit with girls my age, who are good players. I had my friends Mary Dailey and Fran Chandler down last weekend and they along with myself and five other local girls had a fun weekend of tennis. We knew coming here would increase our pool of players and give both Phil and I an opportunity to play with a variety of players. I've already been invited to play in an exhibition in November and a pro challenge event in mid November. Plus I'll be on the Florida Intersectional team playing in Boca Raton in later November. Lots going on!
I'm playing this coming weekend in West Palm Beach at the National 50 Clay Courts. Between my heart, the move and starting the new job, I haven't had the opportunity to play much singles, so I've decided to just play doubles this weekend with Fran. It feels a little awkward to only be playing doubles, but it'll be fun seeing all the girls and hanging out for the weekend. I've posted the links to the draws to the right of this post.
Phil is only 4 weeks away from hitting. He has gone strictly by the book in his rehab process, and has followed doctor's orders to the T. I'm proud of his attitude and how he's handled himself through this setback. As we've said from the beginning, a shoulder is fixable. We have friends who are fighting for their lives with life threatening illnesses. I know it's been tough for him, but he will be back better than ever. We're really looking forward to getting back to our on court workouts, and fully intend to be playing mixed doubles together next year in some husband/wife events. We just need to take care of one minor detail for that to happen....... :-)
I will post results from the tournament this weekend, and try to do better updating in the future.

Right before I read the last sentence of your blog I thought, Well they've got to do something about this "husband and wives" thing. Then I loved your final comment! Will be checking on your play this weekend. Love you Tillie
