Under a Week

The days seem to be flying by, filled with "gotta do this, gotta do that" stuff. We've had doctor's appointments, hair cuts, meeting with moving companies, and let's not forget the MOVING SALE! Seems like so much to do, in so little time. Next Wednesday is our last day at Hidden Dunes, then that evening we are flying to Naples to look for a place to live. We return on Saturday, then will be packing up and moving out that following week.

Fortunately, we were able to rent my house in less than 2 days. The renters have a signed a year's lease. Given the state of the real estate market, which is improving, we decided that renting my house was a better option than trying to sell right now. A family relocating to this area from Atlanta will be moving in on September 1. Wanting to move as little "stuff" as possible, we went through the house and did a thorough sweep of things and had a moving sale last Saturday. It was hard work, and very hot, but very profitable, so in the end it was worth it. Goodwill got the leftovers. Now we're down to basic furniture pieces, along with some kitchen stuff and a few other knick knacks that I couldn't bear to part with. All the lawn equipment is sold, and thankfully, I didn't cave to Phil wanting a riding mower. Otherwise he'd be riding that thing down to Naples, with his car in tow. We are finding that moving companies are very expensive, but I have convinced Phil of two things.... 1) with his shoulder in a sling, and not able to lift, we are not even thinking of trying to "do it ourselves" with a U-Haul, and 2) there are some things you just have to pay others to do, and this is one of them.

We have received innumerable emails and phone calls from so many people expressing their sadness to see us going, but wishing us the best on our new endeavor. The further away I get from having made the decision to leave Hidden Dunes and the closer it gets to actually leaving and moving to Naples, the more sure I am that I have made the right decision. It is time to take on new challenges, meet new people, and for Phil and I to build a life together. We are looking forward to a life filled with love, laughter and happiness and the daily gift of joy that God will provide for us.

Thanks to everyone for your continued love and support.

Myke,we are excited about your your new venture and the growth that will come with it. As a friend once told us about our big move, "it's like repotting a plant, you will put out lots of new roots" and he has been right.

Victoria BC has been an amazing and wonderful change for the five of us and Bruce,Liz's new lifemate.

After twenty years of getting our Myke fix at Hidden Dunes, the last five years have had a void when it came to vacation time, but we think of you often and get updates occasionally from some of the Chattanooga gang.

I hope Phil and your new club fully appreciate who they have.
