Finals

Sorry for the delay in posting Phil's final results. I tried posting last night and for some reason, after I had typed it all in, blogger wouldn't let me post or even save the draft. I got frustrated and tired and said I'd do try it again this morning. Renee and I played a super fun doubles match at Hidden Dunes with Bob Greene and Richard Rula yesterday, and finished up right about the time Phil was starting his final. I decided that instead of sitting at home wondering and worrying what was going on in his match, that I'd go to Tops'l to watch some of the Helen Drake tournament. John Pittman and Craig Broome were playing doubles so I hung around with Marilyn to watch. About a set and a half into their match my phone buzzed and it was Phil. I moved away from the spectators to take the call. THEY WON! I must have yelped with glee when he told me, because everyone around me was giving me thumbs up and congrats when I got off the phone. I am so thrilled for Phil. He was very concerned about his calf muscle prior to leaving for the tournament, and I was especially concerned when he re injured it during the singles match. Phil has an incredible fight in him and I couldn't be any more proud than I am. He inspires me everyday. His flight home isn't until tomorrow, so he'll hang out today watching the singles final and enjoying his week of hard work. I'll finally breathe a deep sigh of relief that I don't have to keep looking at the clock and wonder how any matches are going.

Congratulations Phil! I know you are proud and excited. I'm so happy that calf muscle held out, but sorry you couldn't complete the singles. What's next on your menu. I know you have lots more wins waiting on you. Tillie
