Heading Home Early

I wasn't scheduled to come home until tomorrow, but after Fran's singles win this morning over Susan Love, we both decided since we had nothing else to do, she could drive me to the airport in Ft. Lauderdale and I could get home a day early. I was torn between staying to watch her final tomorrow, or heading home, and sleeping in my own bed, having a hot shower (after our week of lukewarm showers in the hotel) and seeing Phil. The latter choice won, so I'm waiting for my flight to depart in about an hour.

I woke up feeling a little fatigued today. I warmed up Fran for her singles match, and after hitting about three balls, my arms and legs felt like heavy tree trunks that wouldn't move. Quite an interesting sensation. I'm now glad that we decided to not play the doubles after all. I'll have to go home and get all this figured out. In talking to my brother last night, he really wants me to come to St. Louis to get a second opinion. At some point I will. In the mean time, I'll still work on my game and try to do what I can to improve.

It's been a fun week away from work (which I always feel guilty leaving this time of year), but I accomplished what I needed to. Time to get back to work and focus on the rest of the winter guest season. I hope to be ready for a tournament in April again. I think it's a realistic goal. Phil plays his next tournament in Sarasota in a couple of weeks. I'll be posting on his results as he plays his first tournament of the year in a new age group.
