Phil left this morning with Jim Kiesby to drive to Sarasota/Bradenton for a category II national. It's his first tournament of the year and the first tournament in his new age group. He's been practicing intensely for this event and I think he's ready to "play some ball". Phil has a set way he likes to prepare for tournaments, and I admire the way he seeks out practice partners and puts in his time. Many times I am complacent and not as pro active in setting up my workouts. I hope Phil will enjoy the warm weather and change of scenery just as I did a couple of weeks ago.
His first singles match is on Tuesday and looks like doubles may not start until Thursday. He's eager to get his first match underway and get those competitive juices flowing. I really wish I could be there with him, but I'll do my cheer leading from afar. I will post his results daily. If you'd like to check out his singles and doubles draws, I've posted the links to each on the right of this post.
a side note on me and my health....I'm feeling fine. I haven't decided yet where I will seek a second opinion on my heart issue. I'll do something in the next 6-8 weeks.
