Win Some, Lose Some

Memo to self: Next time you're playing in a big match, don't forget to bring your serve along to play.

My match with Susan today, was very disappointing. Not because I lost. She is very good player. More because I just didn't feel like I played well. My serve was a non factor, almost non existent. I was never able to get a good feeling for my groundies, which is credit to her for not giving me a ball to get grooved on. She hit plenty of winnners, but that coupled with my unforced errors, kept me from being on the winning side of a tough 7-5, 6-4 loss. I have tomorrow off from singles, as I move into the consolations now. I play the winner of a match that plays tomorrow.
I am happy to say that I was able to somehow dig in and find my serve again for our doubles match. Fran and I played very well and won 6-0,6-2. Everything felt great....serves, returns, volleys, overheads...go figure. We move into the semis tomorrow against Susan and Vesna. Fran and I make a great team. I'm looking forward to continuing our winning ways!

I'm so sorry you lost your singles match. It sounds as if it was a good match - goos except you lost. Now go and wind the 1st place in the consolations. Keep up the great playing in doubles! Cheering for you! Tillie
