This blog will allow me to journal my experiences both on and off the court in upcoming tournaments and travels.

Lucked Out Again
Looks like we dodged another storm. It's been a couple of years since we've had any real threats. It's such an uneasy feeling when there's talk of a hurricane in the Gulf and anywhere on the coast is fair game. You never want to wish these terrible storms on anybody, but I'm sure glad we're out of harms way on this one. I'll be leaving Saturday for Salinas. The entries closed last night, and the draw will be extremely tough. I'm using this tournament as a means to get match tough for Turkey....and by the looks of the entrants, I'll have plenty of opportunity to play tough matches, as they all look good! Phil played his first round today of the Grass Court Nationals in New York. He was leading 6-2, 5-2 and the rains came. Sounds like he's in control and will finish up tomorrow morning. I meet Phil in Atlanta exactly four weeks from today to leave for Turkey!
