This blog will allow me to journal my experiences both on and off the court in upcoming tournaments and travels.

Watching Storms
I'm a week away from leaving for Salinas. I'm so ready to play a tournament...it's been since the first of June that I've played competitively and I feel like I'm ready. Phil left today for New York for his Grass Court Nationals. He is seeded first, but faces a tough field of players. I know he'll do well. It looks like my draw will be very tough. Some of the top 50's players, as well as most of the top 45's have signed up for singles and doubles. I'm playing doubles in the Hard Courts with Mary Dailey, who is one of the top doubles players in the world. She won the World's last year in Turkey in both the 35 and 45 doubles. We're good friends and we'll have a great time playing together. I'm concerned about all the activity in the tropics. We were very fortunate to have missed Gustav, and Hannah went up the east coast, but all eyes are on Ike now. We'll know more by Monday.
