Cool Practice Day
Besides adjusting to the time change, there is a weather adjustment too. Destin was still having temps in the high 80's, and high humidity when I left on Saturday. Here, there is a cool morning fog, temps in the 50's, that burns off mid day, with highs in the low 70's with no humidity. I'm just not quite used to bundling up yet. After Mary and I hit this morning, we played a practice doubles match, then went to lunch with Carolyn Nichols. We came back and hit some 2 on 1's with Mariana Hollman. A few early round matches were played throughout the day. I play my singles at 11, then doubles at 2 tomorrow. I kept checking in with Phil throughout the day...thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Ike going through Columbus on Sunday, his flight home from New York was delayed, finally getting him home at 2:00 a.m. this morning..... with no luggage and no power. His bag finally arrived this afternoon, but still no power. Hopefully he'll get a good nights sleep tomorrow and wake up to air conditioning and lights.

Dear Myke,
I share in your disappointment over losind today. I know you played great and guess you just have to work a little harder to get better. Play well in the rest of your matches and have fun!!
Love you,Tillie
