This blog will allow me to journal my experiences both on and off the court in upcoming tournaments and travels.

Long Drive
I don't mind driving long distances to tournaments. Obviously having another driver to break up the miles and time helps, but I was looking forward to this drive....a little solitude and time to unwind from the frantic pace at work the past couple of weeks. I gassed up and was finally on the road a little before 8 this morning. By the time I hit the half way point of Baton Rouge I was starting to fade. Thankfully, peanut butter, pretzels, Gatorade, music and phone calls from everyone checking on me helped push me through to arrive at my hotel almost exactly 10 hours later. I'm looking forward to a good nights sleep....no wake up calls by the doggies at 5 a.m.....poor Scott has to deal with that. I'll head over to the Houston Racquet Club mid day to check in and find someone to hit with. The weather is warm, just the way I like it. Looks like a chance of rain on Monday. Phil arrives on Tuesday. He says our motto about the tournament this week is "taking care of business". I'm ready.
